Our state-of-the-art facility is led by experts with extensive experience of 25 years in the procedure, ensuring high-quality care for patients.

Skilled Approach for Minimal Complications

Experience a low rate of complications such as Infection, Hematoma, or Pacemaker Lead Dislodgement, with a rate of less than 0.5%.

Quick Recovery and Minimal Hospital Stay

Enjoy shorter hospital stays as device closure procedures are minimally invasive, eliminating the need for chest opening and allowing for faster recovery than traditional Open-Heart Surgery.

Device Closure at AHI

Device Closure is a minimally invasive procedure that doesn’t require opening the chest, which means less pain and a quicker recovery time compared to traditional open-heart surgery.

Device Closure procedures are effective in repairing certain types of Congenital Heart Defects, such as Atrial Septal Defects (ASDs), Ventricular Septal Defects (VSD), and Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). These defects can lead to symptoms such as shortness of breath, fatigue, and arrhythmia, which can be improved with the closure of the hole.

Since Device Closure procedures are minimally invasive, there is a lower risk of complications compared to Open-Heart Surgery.

How to Prepare for this Procedure

The patient gets admitted on the day of the procedure. This procedure is done through the arteries and veins of the groin. Therefore, after admission, the groin area is shaved, and the procedure needs 4-5 hours of fasting. The procedure takes at least 2 hours. For paediatric patients, it is done under general anaesthesia, and for adults, it is done under local anaesthesia. Discharge happens usually in two days from the day of admission.

The patient will need emotional and physical support.

The patient needs to take the medicines as advised by the doctor. They can go back to work in 2-3 days.

The patient can resume their daily work routine two days after the procedure.

In 2011, I thought it was the end of my active life. But after my Angioplasty, I started running marathons!
