X-Ray (Digital Radiography) at AHI

Plain Radiography involves the use of X-Rays to capture images of various body parts, such as the chest, abdomen, extremities, paranasal sinuses, skull, and spine. Trained Radiographers conduct these scans without the need for prior appointments or patient preparation. Additionally, portable X-Ray services are accessible for patients in the ICU or those with limited mobility. Our experienced consultants ensure timely and accurate reporting of results.

How to Prepare for this Diagnostic & Imaging Procedure

There is no prior appointment required for an X-Ray during routine hours. Pregnancies should be ruled out prior to an X-Ray. Patients might be requested to change into a hospital-provided gown or shirt and remove any metallic objects from the body area being scanned.

No specific preparation is required for a plain Radiograph.

Chest Radiography: The patient needs to stand close to the cassette, and the patient will be guided to hold breath. At the end, Inspiration and Radiography will be taken.
Other Body X-Ray Imaging: The X-Ray will be taken in a specific position with adequate exposure factors by a trained technician.

No specific precaution is needed.

X-Rays, or Radiography, use a very small dose of ionising radiation to produce pictures of the body’s internal structures and generally produce no adverse effects. Risks associated with radiation exposure may be related to the cumulative number of X-Ray examinations and/or treatments over a long period of time. X-Ray is harmful for pregnant women; hence, they should be avoided by them.
