As people all over the world celebrate the clinical success of Foetal stenting for HLHS at Children's Hospital Boston, this month, we at Mumbai are at a very nascent stage of a Pediatric Cardiac program. At Asian Heart Institute, we hope to make a humble beginning by espousing the principle of team spirit .

The role of society and Government participation is a very important aspect of treating congenital heart defects and thus ensuring a healthy society. In this respect 14th February is celebrated as the 'Congenital Heart Awareness Day' and this year it is being celebrated as a week from 7th February 2006 to 14th February 2006 to spread awareness among the people all over the world.

Childrens' Heart Centre of Asian Heart Institute is commemorating the week by undertaking several activities. As a token we are extending our services to the children of this city as 'Little Heart Check-up Program' (Consultation and Echocardiography for a nominal registration* fee of Rs. 100/-) during this week.

For the professionals working in this field, we have arranged a CME titled 'The Science, Art and Commerce of Congenital Heart Defects' on 12th February 2006, Sunday from 9.00 am to 1.30 pm at the auditorium of Asian Heart Institute. The details of the program are enclosed herewith.
